What Advent Means to Me
Advent triggers in my mind words like hope, peace, and love.
The first advent signals the coming of Jesus Christ into the world as Savior. He came because of His love for the whole world. His coming makes possible the potential for anyone to experience His hope and peace and love.
These qualities will only be realized, however, in the lives of those who receive Him as their Savior.
The first coming of Jesus brings these thoughts into clear focus in my mind.
Because I have Jesus as my Savior, I have the assurance of His presence with me, of forgiveness of my sins, and of life forever with Him.
Since I have trusted in Jesus I experience His peace.
I have also both known that He loves me and have felt His love directed to me.
This is what the season of Advent, Christ coming to the earth, reminds me of. This is why it is such a wonderful time of the year to me.
