FOCUS Classes offer the Meadowood family and guests an opportunity to dig deeper each week as we study the Bible together and discuss various topics of interest to the Christian life. These subjects will change from semester to semester, but we're sure you'll be able to find a class that interests you and assists you in your walk. The hour-long classes meet each Sunday night throughout the school year.
Fall 2019 FOCUS Classes meet each Sunday at 5:30pm
Take a walk through the Apostle Paul's first letter to the believers in Corinth. Led by Pastor Bob Rutherford.
Foundations of Apologetics
Sometimes it seems like you just don't have the answers people are looking for when it comes to Christianity. Gather with others to discuss helpful ways you can engage others in discussion about questions aimed at the faith. This class will cover selections from Foundations of Apologetics from Ravi Zacharias International Ministries. Led by Darryl Snow.
Welcoming the Stranger
Immigration is one of the most complicated issues of our time. Voices on all sides argue strongly for action and change. Christians find themselves torn between the desire to uphold the laws and the call to minister to the vulnerable. Throughout the Bible, God stresses the importance of showing hospitality and ministering to “strangers,” meaning people who are not native to the land. In Matthew 25, Jesus listed taking in a stranger along with feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and taking care of the sick.
In this class, we will discuss immigration from a Biblical perspective and how we, as Christians, are called to minister to those immigrants living in our communities who are either brothers and sisters in Christ and need a church family, or those who are not a part of our faith community yet. Led by Carlos Simonini.
Finding God Faithful (Ladies Study)
Join with ladies from across Meadowood as they gather for in depth study and fellowship that will transform your walk with Jesus and build authentic relationships with women who have walked the paths you're traveling or are companions on your journey. Led by Debbie Epling. (You may choose to purchase study materials, but it is not a requirement.)
