We know that visiting a church for the first time can be a daunting experience. We understand and want to help answer some questions you might have before you walk through our doors for worship on Sunday morning. We're glad you asked!
How do I dress?
Be comfortable coming as you are. You will see members and guests in various attire, and you should feel no pressure to wear a certain style.
What is the music like?
Meadowood offers a variety of musical styles to express our worship and to educate the congregation in the story of the gospel. We sing modern songs as well as more traditional hymns and fill our worship with the sounds of an orchestra, praise team and a full choir.
Will I be singled out?
Guests are never pointed out or made to perform awkward introductions, though before and after the service you may be approached by regular attenders who are looking to welcome you, introduce themselves and find out more about you and what brings you to Meadowood.
Will I be asked/expected to give money?
Giving is one aspect of our worship to God. Members and regular attenders are encouraged to give regularly to support the ministry of Meadowood, but guests should feel no pressure to give anything. Please allow the service to be our gift to you without fear of any expectation to give.
How long is the typical service?
Sunday mornings worship services are usually complete by 10:25, though there may be occasions when they will run a little longer as we celebrate baptisms, participate in the Lord's Supper or honor special achievements. Community Groups have recently resumed meeting with most available immediately following the Sunday morning service.
Where do I park?
Meadowood features several parking options each Sunday. If you are a visitor, the smaller lot closest to the offices provides a number of spaces for visitor parking, however you are free to use the large lot (off Woodcrest Dr.) and the YMCA parking lot (across the street).
Where do I enter the building?
Meadowood has two primary entrances, the main entrance (by the church offices) that faces Woodcrest Dr. and the covered drop off/entrance in the large parking lot on the north side of the building. Once inside, a greeter will be glad to help direct you where you need to go. Please note that our Sunday worship experience has returned to our renovated Worship Center.
What about my kids?
Families are important to Meadowood, and we strive to provide a safe and fun atmosphere where children can be instructed in sound teaching. Sunday School and extended education (during the service) are offered in secure areas of the building designed just for kids. You can drop them off and know they will be well cared for while you experience community, study and worship every Sunday. If you and your family would like to see the measures in place, we'd be happy to offer a tour.
