Forward by Faith

Dear Meadowood Family,
Last week was memorable to say the least. A storm caused a lot of destruction in Midwest City, Our church experienced severe damage in the Worship Center.
A portion of the roof was blown off and the Worship Center received extensive water damage.
I told the worship crowd on Sunday that I said a prayer of Thanksgiving when I heard the news.
I was grateful that no one was in the building when the storm hit. I was thankful that we have excellent insurance that will pay for needed repairs. I am thrilled that this will help us in the projects we are involving ourselves in.
Our goals are to build a Welcome Center, provide an elevator to assist people in getting to the second floor of the Children's Building, replace roofs on Fellowship Hall, the roller coaster hallway, the Adult Education Building, the building that houses our offices, the eaves on both sides of the Chapel, and the roof of the Worship Center.
We want to put field turf on the Children's playground as well as having more lights around the outside of the Church Campus.
The entire project has a projected cost of $868,000. We are entering into a sacrificial giving campaign challenging our people to give over and above their tithe for 150 weeks. As we do this we can pay for the project and be debt free within the 150 weeks.
The Bible teaches in Romans 8:28 that the Lord will work all things for good for those who love Him. I see this happening already.
I saw it last Tuesday. Immediately after the news got around that Meadowood had sustained damage young people and adults came to the church and began helping with clean up. We even had people who were members in the past helping.
Seeing how all these people came together was inspiring to me.
I saw it again last Sunday. The spirit of the people in worship was excellent. We had a large attendance for the Worship Hour. The Lord blessed!
I believe the days ahead have great potential for the strengthening and growth of the ministry of Meadowood.
I hope you will join with me, our staff, and all on our stewardship team in praying that our commitments to Christ would be renewed, that each of us would seek the Lord about the sacrificial gift He would have us make, that the necessary monies would be raised, that the projects of repair and renovation would be completed at the appropriate time, and that as a result of all of this more people would come to faith in Christ and grow in their relationship with Him through the work Jesus does through Meadowood.
I believe the days ahead have great potential for the strengthening and growth of the ministry of Meadowood.
God bless you for the part you will play in this exciting time in our church's life. May the Lord help us to go "Forward by Faith", trusting Him completely, remembering the truth of Ephesians 3:20-21, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
Blessings,
Bob
