Fresh Beginnings
Meadowood Family,
Now is the time of beginnings. School starts August the 11th, and Meadowood's promotion for Community Groups (Sunday School classes) is this Sunday, August 15th.
Wednesday, August the 25th, we bresume our Family Night Meals and the Wednesday Night Prayer and Bible Study.
That evening, Meadowood Kids launches the AWANA program—for children age 3 through 5th grade.
Our Family Meals will begin at 5:00pm, and the adult cost is $6.00 per person. For children 10 and under, the cost is only $3.00. The maximum that any family would pay would be $20.00.
I hope you and your family will join us for the meal and that the children would be involved in AWANA and that the adults will be a part of our prayer time and Bible Study.
On September 12th our Sunday evening ministries get underway. Youth choir will meet from 3:30pm-4:30pm. At 4:30pm students will meet with Kent for Discipleship Training. Jesus said, "Go and make disciples." This is what we are desirous of doing with our youth, adults, and children.
For our adults, at 4:30pm we will have Ladies Bible Study led by Debbie Epling. The Lord has used the various studies led by Debbie to be a great blessing to our ladies in the past, and I anticipate the Lord will use this Bible Study and fellowship hour to be a wonderful source of encouragement to all who attend.
We are also offering a Discipleship Class for men and women. Jay will coordinate these small group studies. He will do a 10-12 minute summary of the verses to be discussed and then participants will get into groups of 4 or 5 people to discuss the verses and also share about any need they would want their group to pray for. We feel this can be extremely beneficial for everyone involved.
Finally, Sundays at 4:30pm - 5:30pm we are having Children's Choir (now called Meadowood Kids Praise). Those who will serve as Choir leaders are extremely excited about this ministry to our children. I do not know if you are aware of this, but most churches do not have children and youth choirs. I am so grateful that we have adults who see the importance of training our children and youth to use their voices to sing praise to the Lord Jesus.
Please pray for these ministries, that the Lord will use them to help each of us develop in our spiritual journey with Jesus.
I stated Sunday, August 1st, that the construction documents for the Welcome Center and other renovations will be complete on August 27th. They will be turned in to the City of Midwest City for the city's Planning Commission's approval on August 30th. This usually takes 3 to 4 weeks. Hopefully we will begin the work in the latter part of September or the 1st part of October.
Thank you for your faithfulness in giving and praying that the Lord would be honored in these efforts.
Blessings to each of you.
Bob
